View of INEP building
Shown is the section of the building housing the archive, work and conference rooms. Downstairs all rooms were used by Senegalese soldiers. The rooms upstairs, containing part of the historical archives and computer room on the upper right-hand side, were completely vandalized as shown by the pictures sent to Africa Research Central in January 1999. After the final retreat of the military in April, all buildings have been completely cleaned up by the INEP staff, helped by volunteers (youth groups etc.). Most of the rooms are completely empty now, without electricity, or equipment.
